How to recover your wallet if you lose access.
Recovery Code
When you create your wallet, you receive a recovery code. This is the third Shamir share. Combined with the server share, it meets the 2-of-3 threshold to reconstruct your key.
Keep your recovery code safe. Store it offline in a secure location. Without it, wallet recovery may not be possible.
Recovery Scenarios
I forgot my PIN
- Go to Settings > Reset PIN
- Enter your recovery code
- The server share + recovery code reconstruct your key
- Set a new PIN
- Your device share is re-encrypted with the new PIN
After 5 failed PIN attempts, your wallet locks for 15 minutes as a security measure.
I lost my device
- Open @ccbotwallet_bot on a new device
- Select Recover Wallet
- Enter your recovery code
- The recovery code + server share reconstruct your key
- Set a new PIN on the new device
- Your wallet is restored with full access
I lost my recovery code (but have my device)
If you still have access to your device and PIN, your wallet continues to work normally. The device share + server share are sufficient for all operations.
However, you should generate a new recovery code as soon as possible from Settings, in case you lose your device in the future.
Email-Based Recovery
If you have verified your email address with CC Bot Wallet:
- Select Recover via Email
- Enter your registered email address
- Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your email
- Complete the recovery process
Important Notes
- We cannot recover your wallet without your recovery code or verified email
- Recovery codes are one-time use - after recovery, a new code is generated
- All recovery attempts are logged in the security audit trail
